General Manager's Corner
GM Corner May – June
Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. As we contend with this pandemic, I want to let you know how we’re responding at Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD).
We're thinking first of the health and well being of our communities, customers, our employees and their families. We’ve taken steps to help protect our team so they can continue to provide the services you need and rely on - a reliable, safe, high-quality supply of water.
We are actively monitoring the status of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the County of Sacramento, which continues to report new cases of coronavirus, and following any new guidelines issued by state and local health officials to keep Californians safe.
We are also keeping up with the guidance of the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control and state and local authorities related to travel, quarantine, meetings and events, and we will continue to adjust our operations accordingly.
The spread of coronavirus may necessitate changes in the way we interact, but it does not change what we do. The District will continue to operate and will continue to deliver the same high-quality level of water and service we have always provided to our customers.
As we enter the third month of operating under shelter in place orders, I want to take a moment to thank the dedicated staff at SSWD. As an essential business, our team has continued to work non-stop to deliver a high-quality reliable source of water while also navigating disruptions to everyday life from the coronavirus pandemic.
There is a lot of work left to do, but I have faith that we are up to the challenge. By working together, sharing together, and supporting one another, we will come through this a stronger and more united community.
On behalf of SSWD, we wish you all good health.
