A bimonthly column written from SSWD General Manager Dan York on important issues and updates regarding various District matters.
One of the most important things in business and in life is to have a vision and plan for the future. The future can be filled with changes and challenges and it’s vital to have a roadmap to keep you moving in the right direction.
Here at Sacramento Suburban Water District (SSWD), we recently completed our own roadmap and vision for the next five years and beyond – our Strategic Plan
The plan was created to support SSWD’s central mission of providing a high-quality, reliable supply of water and superior customer service at the lowest responsible rate and developed with guidance and input from staff, management and external stakeholders.
The plan focuses on five guiding principles and goals:
- Provide a High Quality Reliable Water Supply by Ensuring it is Sustainable, Clean, and Safe
- Optimize Operational and Organizational Efficiencies
- Ensure Fiscal Responsibility and Affordable Rates
- Maintain Excellent Customer Service
- Retain and Recruit a Qualified and Stable Workforce
The Strategic Plan furthers our ongoing efforts to improve and upgrade our infrastructure, and diversify and expand our water supplies for a healthy, sustainable groundwater basin for generations to come.
It also represents our commitment to continuing to be a model public agency that maintains stakeholder trust through fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and leadership.
The Board of Directors, District management and staff will work diligently to implement and monitor this plan to ensure its success in helping us continue to meet our mission.
