Bohemian Village #2 Main Replacement Project
This large project was divided into three phases. Construction on Phase 2 began in late-summer 2008 and was completed in December 2008. Phase 2 included the east side of Fulton Avenue from Marconi Avenue to Carson Way, and east to Lacy Lane. This project included the installation of approximately 3,200 feet of new 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron water mains. In addition, approximately 65 new meters were installed with new house service lines to each residence. The total cost of Phase 2 was $1 million.
Construction of Phases 1 and 3 started in 2009. Phases 1 and 3 included the installation of 16,500 feet of new 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron water main and 274 new water service lines with meters. These two phases also included installation of 2,700 feet of new 16-inch ductile iron water main in a commerical area. The location of Phases 1 and 3 was generally the Town & Country Shopping Center at the intersection of Marconi and Fulton Avenues and the area north of Marconi Avenue, south of Edison Avenue, west of Fulton Avenue and east of Wright Street. The total cost of Phases 1 and 3 was $5.5 million.
