The Highlands Phase 2 Main Replacement Project

Construction on Phase 2 is scheduled to begin in early 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in December 2012.  The estimated construction cost is $6.6 million dollars.  This project includes the installation of approximately 8,800 feet of 12” Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP) and 16,500 feet of 8” DIP.  These new water mains will be installed in the street and will replace existing backyard water mains that have outlived their useful life.  As part of this project, 49 fire hydrants will be replaced or upgraded.  In addition, approximately 530 new water service lines with water meters will be installed.  This project is located in North Highlands and is bounded by Watt Avenue to the west, Channing Drive to the north and east and Don Julio Blvd. to the south.
