Smart Irrigation Controller Rebate Program – Funds are currently available

If your irrigation system is in need of an update and you’re thinking about installing a “smart controller,” SSWD now offers rebates of up to $850 for a limited time.

A “smart controller” automatically adjusts when water is applied based on real-time weather such as rainfall, wind, temperature and humidity. There are smart controllers that measure soil moisture too. To learn more about smart irrigation controllers, check out:

Installing and fine-tuning the controller can be complex.  To assist customers, a list of installers who have participated in a Regional Water Authority sponsored training workshop, are licensed by the State of California and are familiar with the Smart Irrigation Controller Rebate program is provided.  By including a contractor on this list, however, Sacramento Suburban Water District is not recommending or endorsing any particular listed contractor.   Please see the full disclaimer at the bottom of the participating installers list.

How to Check Your Flush Volume

Toilet Rebate Program - Funds are currently available

SSWD offers its customers rebates on high-efficiency toilets (HET). Residential and multi-family customers may be eligible to receive up to $175 for an HET. Commercial customers may be eligible to receive up to $200 for a commercial HET.

Water guzzling toilets account for the largest amount of water use inside a typical residential home. By replacing your high flush toilet with a 1.28 gpf toilet, you can save up to gallons 18,000 gallons of water per year. That’s enough water to fill a backyard swimming pool!

Clothes Washer Rebate Program - Funds are currently available (processing time 10-12 weeks)

SSWD customers may be eligible for a $75 rebate with the purchase of an approved high efficiency clothes washer. You may qualify for a rebate from your energy company too!

According to research data and manufacturer information, high efficiency clothes washers use:

• 40% less water.
• 50% less energy.
• Less detergent.
• And extracts more water, requiring less dry time.
