The Service Area Committee and the Capital Improvement Program Committee were consolidated into one committee: Facilities and Operations Committee in December 2004.

The Service Area Committee mission was to review, comment and provide potential resolutions regarding water service situations as they occur, prior to the item being brought before the Board for consideration. The Committe believes their resolutions will assure that District operation will continue to be conducted in accordance with all statutory and regulatory requirements that result in a more efficient process.

To assist in their resolution, the Committee:

• Without prior approval of the Board, authorize the General Manager to resolve service area issues and/or disputes at a cost to the District that does not exceed $50,000.00 per incident, when the resolution complies with District policy, and funds are available for that purpose in the approved budget.
• All decisions of the Committee regarding the resolutions of each matter will be final.
• The Committee will inform the Board of its findings and actions.
