Honoring the Service of Directors Dave Jones and Kevin Thomas

Over the past several weeks, Sacramento Suburban Water District (District) has experienced the loss of two dedicated members of its Board of Directors, Dave Jones and Kevin Thomas. On behalf of the entire District family, I extend our sincere condolences to their families, friends, and all those whose lives they touched. We are deeply grateful for their years of service and unwavering commitment to the communities we are privileged to serve.

Public service requires a willingness to devote countless hours to studying complex issues, listening to customers, weighing difficult decisions, and always striving to act in the best interests of the community. Directors Jones and Thomas each brought their own experiences and perspectives to that responsibility, and they shared a common dedication to protecting one of our community's most essential resources and ensuring customers received safe, reliable, and affordable water service.

Throughout their years on the Board, they helped guide important decisions affecting the District's operations, infrastructure investments, financial stewardship, and long-term planning. They shared a commitment to ensuring that the District remained a reliable and trusted provider of safe, high-quality drinking water while preparing for the needs of future generations.

While they will be remembered for the decisions they helped make, they will also be remembered for the time, care, and dedication they brought to serving the public. Their willingness to give back to their community through public service has left a lasting mark on not only the District, but the community it serves.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, District staff, and the entire District  family, I want to express our heartfelt appreciation for Directors Jones' and Thomas' service and extend our deepest sympathies to their families. We will remember them with gratitude for their years of dedicated public service.
